Tonight’s post comes to you from the comfort of my quaint hotel room at the Hotel Posta. After a long day of walking A LOT, I am sitting cozy in my favorite pair of pjs, with my laptop, summarizing today’s travels with you.
Today was an exhausting day! I survived the layover in Frankfurt, the flight to Bologna, and the shuttle to the hotel. Upon my arrival, I quickly changed and joined a walking tour around the city of Reggio Emilia. The tour was offered by the volunteers of the Reggio Children - Loris Malaguzzi Centre Foundation. It was a wonderful learning experience, as Reggio’s history was shared with us through stories of aesthetic architecture and community changes over time.
After the tour, all participants met at the Loris Malaguzzi International Centre. The members of the Ontario Reggio Emilia Organization were introduced and the vision of the week was shared by Karyn Callaghan, the president of the association. Socializing with other educators interested in the Reggio Emilia Approach occurred afterward, over a yummy traditional snack.
It is almost ten o’clock here and jetlag is certainly settling in. Our study group program begins tomorrow, so I better get to bed. Blog #3 will include excerpts from some of the wonderful learning that I will have the pleasure of being a part of tomorrow.
Buona Notte (goodnight),
Vassi
